About us
Abergeldie is a majority Australian owned civil contractor with over 30 years’ experience delivering projects across the water, utilities, bridges, roads, rail, energy and community infrastructure sectors. Our commitment to excellence, innovation and sustainability has positioned us as a trusted industry leader.
We are entering a significant phase of growth in Queensland, building on strong performance across Abergeldie and a clear ambition to grow into a $1.2 B+ business by 2030. Queensland will play a pivotal role in that growth.
With strong foundations, long‑standing delivery capability and our recent appointment as a delivery partner under Unity Water’s $2 B Build Better Together Program, the Queensland business is well positioned for this next stage of growth. This role will lead our established portfolio while broadening our presence into broader civil and infrastructure markets, strengthening and diversifying our footprint across the state.
About the opportunity
As a key member of the Executive team, reporting to the Executive General Manager, you will lead the Queensland business with full accountability for performance across the state. You will set the direction, drive disciplined and profitable delivery across all projects and programmes and build a business capable of sustained growth.
You will be responsible for building the right team to support our growth and ensuring our culture, grounded in safety, accountability, teamwork and delivering on our commitments is embedded as we scale.
Externally, you will represent Abergeldie at senior client and partner level, strengthening strategic relationships that position the business for future opportunities, and reinforcing our reputation as a trusted infrastructure delivery partner across Queensland.
What you’ll bring to the team
You will bring significant senior leadership experience within civil infrastructure, ideally with strong exposure to water and utilities and the ability to operate across broader infrastructure sectors.
You will have led a substantial, multi‑project business with full P&L accountability, ideally with experience running a $200–300 M per annum operation or comparable scale and complexity.
You will bring the ability to win work, deliver it well and build the teams and client relationships that sustain long‑term performance.
Why you should work with us
This is an opportunity to lead and grow our Queensland business at a pivotal time. You will have genuine autonomy to shape direction, with the backing of an Executive team committed to long‑term performance and disciplined growth. There is strong delivery capability in place and real opportunity to build further depth, capability and market presence across the state.
For the right leader, this role offers genuine influence, meaningful accountability and the opportunity to shape the future of our Queensland business.
